I wish I knew!

I have absolutely no idea...
On which special releases are they supposed to be?
-
So does anyone know where to find the other bonus tracks - All At Once and What Is What?

Hmmm... I see no signs of it on youtube...

You must listen to The Depths NOW!!!
Malfeasance is pretty cool but it really sounds weird for an Interpol song :D
-
I haven't heard that one yet! I'll have to look it up! And even though I have the bonus track on my cd, for some reason I still haven't listened to it haha. Maybe I've been subconsciously saving it for later when I've worn everything else out ;D
And yes haha, that's why I put off listening to All the Rage much until right before it came out! I'd say it's still probably my favorite on the album, actually!
-
The only one I kinda skip is All The Rage but only because I've listened to it so many times before the album was released :D
all the songs I didn't particularly enjoy straight away I now love.
Also, THE DEPTHS. I understand why it's a B-side but why did it have to be so damn good?
-
I'm glad Spotify doesn't keep track of how many times I've listened to an album, because I've listened to El Pintor pretty much all day, every day since it came out.
Would love to try it in that order, David, just to test it out! I'll try it!!
A couple of the songs have been growers for me. I'm officially in love with everything from 1-7 finally, and then I really like Tidal Wave. Hoping eventually that Twice as Hard will grow on me, but I still don't *love* it. Ancient Ways is by far the one I like the least, and I usually skip it. But honestly, that's a pretty damn good ratio of love vs dislike in one album O__O

I'd have to try to listen in that order!
But I think the sequencing of the album is pretty good, I like All The Rage as a starter, as it starts slow and then torpedoes you into the more straightforward rock sound that follows in the album, before being having a more quiet track as a closer. It works pretty well for me. The only shame is that Twice As Hard fades out and I really don't like fade out songs, especially as closer. It's like not really ending in a way.

Someone on Stereogum suggested a rejigged tracklist that he believes flows better than the official one:
Everything is Wrong
Tidal Wave
All the Rage Back Home
Twice as Hard
My Blue Supreme
Same Town, New Story
Ancient Ways
Anywhere
My Desire
Breaker 1
---
I'd be inclined to agree. I don't think All The Rage really works as an opener and I think Everything Is Wrong and Breaker 1 make surprisingly bigger impacts as opener and closer. The only thing I'd disagree with is maybe placing Twice As Hard later.
When I get a hold of all the bonus tracks and some free time, I can't wait to rejig it even more. Interpol are usually great at sequencing albums, but they seem to have missed a trick here.
BTW, I do love the album. But I love overanalysing this stuff.

For discussion of all things El Pintor.
