ok I watched a few videos of it and wtf?!

Also it's complete chaos here because of the snow. Schools are closed, the airport is closed, there were no trains nor buses this morning. Half of the subway is down. Woohoo!

I'm supposedly in the one part of the country where it ISN'T snowing.

The skies are blue and sunshiney but it's still freezing cold. :(

It's sunny and hot here in good ol' California. Not even Spring yet. I love the Bay Area, but I would like some weather sometimes.

I'm bitter Christopher Lee wasn't chosen! He looks a bit too young for that, though.

I am fascinated by the process to elect a new Pope. I would follow BBC News coverage online before and when they got Benedict in. I'm not Catholic but the history nerd in me found it compelling.

I was kind of thinking it'd be interesting if they got that African cardinal (Turkson?) in. Or the Filipino cardinal, Tagle. (as I am Filipino). The Philippines would explode.

I see what you mean Juvs: the Vatican is such a creepy notion to contemplate, even in our "modern" times. I've been living among Catholics for most of my life and just a few steps from the Vatican City and there are so many scary things ingrained in our culture that we do not even realize how much we are truly **** up until we go abroad. Well, anyway, the Vatican is not for extreme changes, if we haven't noticed  ::) This is the first elected pope from South America and they're making it sound like it's such a revolutionary choice. Dude's a Jesuit, so they're not really improving, haha. Africa and Philippines would be too much. Hopefully they will implode or something before they need to elect someone else.

Are the Jesuits more **** Catholics? The Filipino guy I think was a bit more progressive. But the Philippines are a devoutly Catholic nation, so I dunno.

I would've loved the African Pope. Would've straight up tweeted the Madonna "Like A Prayer" music video. Or...whatever the one is with the Black Jesus type in it.
